11-12 Pasta Party & Prelims Information

Hello Families!

We're so proud of our young swimmers and excited to see them participating in Prelims this year!

We will be hosting a Pasta Dinner on Wednesday, July 8th at 5pm at The Roberts' home to fuel them up and have them spend some time with coaches to get prepared and pumped up for the following day.

Meet Details for 13Up Prelims - 7/9 at Homestead Farm II

  • Heat Sheets are attached at the bottom. Please print out your own copy or you can upgrade to Swimtopia Pro app ($) to get live meet updates (~5 min delay).

Homestead Pool Address: 7675 S Krameria St, Centennial, CO 80112

  • There will be 2 swimmer drop off only zones – one on S. Krameria Street in front of the upper pool parking lot and the other along Kettle Ave (when you enter off Holly) in front of the lower parking lot by the tennis courts. There will be one spot reserved per team in either the upper or lower parking lots - look for the signs. There is parking along both sides of Kettle Ave towards Holly near the tennis courts. Be respectful when parking in the neighborhood and leave the appropriate amount of room near driveways and corners. Please be aware there are a lot of small children in our neighborhood - drive slowly.

Wahoos Tent Location:

  • We will be set up your tents on the green space on the NORTHEAST side of the pool just outside the heating area. Additional family tents can be out in the field, but no personal tents on the pool deck.
  • Volunteers need to check in with a parent rep for all of the details for your shift when you arrive.
  • Swimmers are REQUIRED to check in to the tent by 6:40am - ready to stretch by 6:50am - our pool warmup time is 6:05-6:25am in Lanes 1 & 2.

  • Concessions will be available for sale and they have let us know that it is cash or Venmo!

Details

  • 5:40am - Swimmers Report to Kate
  • 6:05-6:25am – WC2 swimmers warm up
  • 7:00 am – Scratch meeting in the clubhouse
  • 7:20 am - Coaches Meeting at Starter Tent
  • 7:30 am - Stroke Judge meeting at starter/scorer table. This is for all shifts throughout the day.
  • 7:45 am – Timer Meeting at Starter Tent
  • 7:50 am – National Anthem
  • 8:00 am– Meet begins!
  • Volunteer Shifts
    • Shift 1: 7:50am to 10am
    • Shift 2: 9:50am to 12pm
    • Shift 3: 11:50am to End (approximately 1:15pm)

Meet Tips

  • Pack the night before. Couple of towels, goggles, cap, sunscreen, sleeping bag/blanket and books and/or entertainment
  • Wear suit to meet
  • In sharpie on forearm write: EVENT-HEAT-LANE- for each of your child’s races (this can also be done at the meet with the help of a coach/jr. coach) 1. example: “25-2-4” this would represent that my swimmer was in event 25 of the second heat for that event and swimming in lane 4
  • Dress for daily weather progression- may want a hat v. Bring snacks and fluids or be prepared to buy concessions (have cash just in case)
  • Get to the pool in time to warm up.
  • Check races before the meet starts.

  • These are KIDS
  • This is a RECREATIONAL LEAGUE
  • Officials are parent VOLUNTEERS
  • Meets are run by parent VOLUNTEERS
  • This is NOT the OLYMPICS

You are expected to treat EVERYONE with RESPECT and common courtesy

Failure to abide by the parent code of conduct will result in Team and League disciplinary actions.
