Meet our Coaches!
Our 2020 Coaching Staff
Hi Wahoos! My name is Kaylyn Flatt and I am so excited to be a part of the Wahoo family again! Once upon a time, I was a swimmer on the Wahoos myself. I joined the team back in 2002 and it was where I fell in love with the sport of swimming. From then on, swimming became a large part of my life. I graduated from Cherry Creek High School in 2015 and I headed to the University of Nebraska, Lincoln on a swimming scholarship. My time as a Division 1 athlete and captain taught me a lot about hard work, dedication and just how special a team can be. I am hoping to be able to bring some of that, as well as a little fun, to the Wahoo team family this summer. Since retiring from my career as an athlete last February, I turned to volunteer coaching at both the University and the High School level as well as teaching swim lessons at my local YMCA to stay in touch with the pool. I also graduated from UNL with a degree in Secondary Education in December of 2019. Since then I have moved back home to Colorado and I am currently substitute teaching in the science department at Cherry Creek High School while I look for a full- time job in the area for the fall. With moving home and working at my high school, my life feels like quite the full circle at the moment, but it wouldn’t be complete without a return to the team where I fell in love with swimming for the first time! I am so excited to be back with the Wahoos and I can’t wait to see what this season holds!
I have been swimming for 10 years, starting in Alpharetta, Georgia before my family moved back to Colorado in 2013. I started swimming for the Wahoos in 2014 and have been ever season since. I also swam for the Aqua Wolves and currently am a Junior at Regis Jesuit High School and swim on the Regis swim team. I have been an H20 on the Wahoos and love working with kids. I am excited about being on the coaching staff this season and look forward to passing on the love I have for swimming to the rest of the team!!
Hey everyone! I'm ecstatic to be joining the coaches this summer! I'm currently a high school sophomore at Colorado Early Colleges Parker. My school doesn't have a swim team, so I look forward to all of our practices! Last year, I was an H2O and really enjoyed spending my time with the team and watching everyone become better swimmers and achieve their goals! I have lived in Willow Creek my entire life and have been attending Wahoos swim meets since I was 2 when my brother, Fisher, joined the Wahoos. I started my swimming career with the Wahoos when I was 5, and I have many fond memories of the tennis court sleepovers, night games, Saturday swim meets, end-of-year parties, dedicated parent reps, and fun coaches. I know we will have lots of fun this year!
Howdy! My passions are swimming and skiing. Skiing led me to receive my OEC technician certification and join the Winter Park Ski Patrol as a first responder. Winter weekends are spent enjoying the sun and snow up in the mountains. Luckily, this short season has left me with plenty of time for swimming and soccer (also a passion). My family has been a part of the Wahoos' community for 22 years, I have been swimming for the Wahoos for 12 seasons, during that time we have not missed a single meet. I joined CAC Stingrays in first grade and continue to swim for the Club, where I have attended USA coaching clinics and countless meets. I began swimming for Cherry Creek High School in my freshman year where I have balanced both swimming and diving. I received a varsity letter this year in my 100 back and I hope to continue improving and sharing my love for the sport. I look forward to this season and coaching for Willow Creek. GO WAHOOS!
Hi! I have been a Wahoo since I was five and summer swim team is always a highlight of the year! I am finishing my sophomore year at Cherry Creek where I swim on the Lady Bruins Swim and Dive team. I play water polo on the club team at Creek, and with the Colorado Pirates. I have also swam for the CAC Stingrays, Life Time, and Sawfish club teams. I enjoy spending time with my family, and telling and laughing at corny jokes. I can't wait to have an amazing season!
